Chlorine is my perfume (7)

I am neither pro swimmer nor doctor, so you are following my advice on your own risk. For better understanding, read my Quick Reference first.

  • Warm-Up: 100K, 50B, 50R (2x)
  • 4x100K (focus on technique, flip turns)
  • 10x25K (dive one additional stroke per lane – in diving/breaststroke – until you reach the end of the lane diving, walk back to the start after every lane… I don’t know how about you, but the walking messes up my pulse)
  • 6x75L (25S, 25R, 25B… no K)
  • 8×50 (25S, 25K slowly; after every round: get out of the water and do 5 push-ups and 10 sit-ups
  • Cool down: 50K, 50B

(Total: 2000m)

Chlorine is my perfume (6)

I am neither pro swimmer nor doctor, so you are following my advice on your own risk. For better understanding, read my Quick Reference first.

  • Warm-Up: 100K, 50B, 50R (2x)
  • 7x25K (try to decrease armstrokes by one on every lane; target count: 13-16)
  • 25K-sprint, 50K relaxed, 25-S (focus on clean technique) (6x) – oh my gosh, I haven’t done this for too long… my body needed quite some time to remember how much fun this is
  • 400K (with flip turns)
  • 200K “Belgian tourniquet” (in pairs: first swimmer dives down in the middle of the lane, second swimmer swims by fastly, then switch order on the next lane)
  • 50K-sprint complete with racedive (2x) – now is the time to fret about those new guys who are so fucking fast
  • Cool down: 100B, 75K

(Total: 2050m)

In addition to this week’s training, let’s have a look at Internet Wisdom™ about butterfly swimming (and the body of Michael Phelps). I am beginning to enjoy myself at it (both butterfly swimming and watching this video), so I guess this is a good sign…

And here’s the way to get there (or, at least, a good part of the way): the Top 4 Butterfly Mistakes and how to avoid them.
