Closing Time

Evening Fun Flowchart

(Swimming, Biking, Running) Flowchart: Is the pool open? – Yes: yay, swimming! No: Is it raining/snowing? – Yes: Biking, No: Temp. over 15°C or sunny? – Yes: Biking, No: Meh, running.

This chart might not be 100% congruent with reality. Actually, I found some ways of tricking myself into running… but most of the time, I end up doing something completely different. Like, swimming 3K when it was actual running weather (“I’ll go running afterwards!”). Jumping mud puddles when I was supposed to improve my speed on concrete. It’s incredible, this damned triathlon (which is way too close already) has taught me a whole new kind of procrastination.

Woken up from the Xtreme Dream

Just in case you weren’t aware (I wasn’t until a friend told me yesterday), there has just been a (failed) attempt of a 61-year old woman to swim the 166 kms between Cuba and Florida. I was astonished at the headlines that all suggested that she already reached her goal although she only started on sunday evening… So, some googling later it seems like another dream has not come true. Just in case you’re interested, read details here.

Well, same time next year? Until then, let’s get back into the water. Rain or shine.
